Dual Degree Programme for Students (India and Australia) : Piyush Goyal

In a recent interview, Piyush Goyal (Union Commerce and Industry Minister India) and Dan Tehan (Minister for Trade, Tourism, and Investment of Australia) disclosed new project details stating they are working on a dual degree programme under the trade agreement.

The main purpose of the project is to enhance collaboration between universities of both countries.

The popular faces stated that education will act as a bridge between the two countries. Thus, revealing the new collaboration and starting of dual degree programmes for students.

In fact, Piyush Goyal on his visit to the University of New South Wales (NSW) in Sydney, invited students to expand its footprints in India and gain access to knowledge from both sides. He further reported in the interview that the project is on move and we are looking forward to recognizing each other’s degrees, and course contents.

He further stated a lot of good work fails to get the right kind of scale and opportunity to operationalize. Thus, we believe with this new partnership a lot of young lives will improve and take the right direction. Also, it will increase our strategic engagements between Australia and India.

Australian Minister Tehan said if you are an Indian student or Australian student, you will be able to do one or two years of your degree in Australia and one-two years in India and with this collaboration between universities will grow. Tehan said, “It is absolutely vital that we educate Indian students in Australia and also use that as a basis to grow education relationships between two nations. I want to see Australian students flocking to India to get educated.”(source)
