Over USD 11 Million under ‘Maitri’ Scholars Program for Indian Students: Australia

A new scholarship program has been announced by the Australian Government for Indian Students. The Australian Maitri Scholarship covers 45 Indian Students who are willing to pursue education for graduation or post-graduation degrees from Australian Universities. They also get cash benefits covering all education fees + stipends for living expenses.

The government of Australia pledges over USD 11 million for supporting students under this program for up to 4 years.

Many Indian students look forward to pursuing their academics at Australian universities but fail due to financial issues. Studying in an Australian country is not as easy as it sounds rather it’s highly expensive. To support Indian students, the Australian government has launched various programs, including Fullbright and Rhodes scholarship programs.

Most of these programs are to provides financial help to students, i.e., covering all education fees and stipends for living expenses. However, to gain these benefits, students must apply for the scholarship and submit their applications.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be an Indian Citizen
  • The candidate must pursue under graduation or post-graduation degree program
  • The applicants must be willing to get an education from Australian universities.
  • Each candidate must carry a 12th standard passing certificate
  • The candidate must carry a graduation degree passing certificate for post-graduation program.

The purpose of introducing the Australian Maitri Scholarship for Indian Students was to strengthen the ties between the two countries and promote Australian education and culture among students.

  • Indian passport
  • 10th, 12th, or graduation passing certificate along with the mark sheets
  • Passport size photograph
  • Mobile number
  • Working email ID
  • Scanned signatures
