For students who are interested to study in Australia, this blog provides comprehensive information on the application process, the overall cost, scholarships, employment opportunities, and other helpful details.

Inspire Overseaas Education Services helps you to find a suitable university in Australia. Our Resources page helps you study, work and live in Australia, we even have information on what you should expect when you graduate. To find the right courses, institutions, and locations, you can use a trusted source such as ioes.in, where you can easily discover the courses and universities that are the best fit for you.

If you are planning to study in a college, your institute may be able to assist you in getting accepted to a particular course. Australian universities generally follow the British system, in which you choose a course before starting study.

Under the UK system, you may apply to several courses in the same or several universities. Some states restrict how many universities you can apply for, so be selective in the places you wish to study. In Australia, you have the option of applying to a variety of scholarships to study. The Australia University Awards scholarships to international students, which are awarded at various levels of studies, including undergraduate, masters, PhD, post-graduate courses.

When studying in a university in Australia as an international student, you need to have a student visa. The student visa is available for applicants who are school-aged and are enrolling in a course of study. To study in Australia, you must be granted an Australian student visa.

The typical student visa will let you work for a set number of hours per week. You can then change courses later on to study at a similar level of study in Australia, or higher, but if you are changing courses to lower levels of Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) or a non-AQF-level course (unless switching between PhD and Masters degrees), then you need to apply for a new visa. If you are studying in Australia on a course longer than 10 months, and it finishes in late Australian academic year (usually mid-December), then your visa is normally valid until March 15 the following year.

This will include your passport (with a valid expiry date at least six months after you complete the study), an airline ticket, your student visa, an offer letter and a certificate of enrollment (CoE), current academic transcripts (if required by your institution), health insurance, and personal references. Critical documents will include your valid passport (check it has an expiry date of at least six months after you finish studying) and maybe some copies of your passport too, in case.

Check with your institution to make sure that you are applying the documents that the institution requires, since requirements differ.

You can apply direct on Australias Immigration site, where you will have to pay a $550 AUS ($420) fee and provide lots of information about yourself and your future studies. If you need help with the visa application process, you may want to consult with an education agent (sometimes known as a study overseas advisor). Education agents (also known as study abroad consultants) like IOES are professionals who have the latest information about Australian institutional requirements and visa policies.
