Scholars love the idea of studying abroad but often step back with the fear generates by the unfamiliarity of the process. Most students ask: Where do I start? Which exams I must look forward to? Do I need to travel overseas for the procedure? Do admission and tuition cost?

Procedures for each institution or destination country may vary, however, a few steps are standardized for all learners planning to study abroad. For example, a few universities demand the child to score good grades in language exams, and similarly other standardized tests.

Exams to Prepare for When You’re Looking to Study Abroad?

All overseas students must meet certain academic prerequisites to join their respective programs. There are also standardized assessments that students must apply for and score good grades as academic performance matters in these exams. A good score can also make you eligible for scholarships and grants.

For English Proficiency

TOEFL iBT

The test helps assess a learner’s English abilities and is accepted by many top universities worldwide. A good score can also increase your chances of getting a scholarship. Remember, the score remains valid for two years. After this period, you need to re-apply for the exam.

IELTS

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System that helps decide if the international student can work or study in a place where English is found to be a dominant interaction language. The test helps assess language proficiency in people. Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Canada are a few popular countries that demand IELTS to crack the immigrant application process.

For Aptitude Tests

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)

Are you planning to go to the USA? SAT can be highly useful as it helps assess an individual’s critical thinking ability. The results help universities check the learner’s competence and chances of succeeding in a specific field.

ACT (American College Testing)

USA universities demand AMT to examine the applicant’s Math, Science, English, and Reading skills. ACT is a non-profit firm that runs these tests in different 4-year US colleges.
